Some La Porte residents theorized the blacktip shark discovered at the side of the residential road was washed up by heavy rainfall, but others said the large fish must have been dumped by some irresponsible fishermen. Advertisement The mystery went viral when a resident posted a photo of the abandoned predator on Facebook. "Well it had rained. I thought the gutters rose up. The gutters rose up and shark came up, but I'm pretty sure someone caught it and put it here," resident Joeena Davis told KTRK-TV. Davis suggested the shark may have been intentionally dumped as a prank to make residents think it had come from the overflowing drains.
