May 30 (UPI) -- Subtropical Storm Alberto's landfall on Florida shores had an unexpected side effect at a nearby hotel -- a waterspout in the pool.

Justin Ray Parker captured video at about 4:30 p.m. Monday of the whirlwind creating a "pool-nado" by swirling the water from the Shores of Panama hotel pool in Panama City Beach into the air.

Parker said the video was filmed just as the subtropical storm was making landfall in nearby Laguna Beach.

Parker said the resort's U-shaped building causes small whirlwinds occasionally, but never the size of the one he caught on camera Monday.
