Texas Lottery searching for holder of $1 million ticket about to expire

May 29 (UPI) -- The Texas Lottery is searching for a Mega Millions winner who has only one day left to claim a $1 million prize.

Texas Lottery officials said the ticket, which matched winning numbers 16-22-40-41-59, but not the Mega Ball 8, in the Dec. 1, 2017, drawing, will expire at 5 p.m. CDT Wednesday.

The ticket was purchased from Valero Corner Store #1307 in Austin, officials said.

"We encourage our Mega Millions players to take another look at their ticket, check the numbers again and if your numbers match, sign the back of the ticket and contact us," said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery.
