May 21 (UPI) -- An Australian family fishing along a river captured video of the moment a curious koala walked up to an unattended pole to do some fishing of its own.

The video, recorded Saturday in Strathmerton, Victoria, shows the koala investigating a fishing pole that had been left unattended in a stand on the shore of the Murray River.

The video shows the koala grip the rod with its hands as if it was fishing like a human.

"Catch anything today, mate?" the filmer asks the marsupial. "Just another day in Australia."

"While fishing along the Murray River a friendly koala joint our family for a fish. It sat itself on the rod holder, grasped the rod in its hands and went fishing for 2-3hours. Only in Australia!" the filmer wrote.
