May 16 (UPI) -- A Maryland man who thought he had won a $5,000 lottery prize said his $50,000 jackpot is a reminder to scratch the whole ticket.

Solomon Zewudie of Oxon Hill told Maryland Lottery officials he was overjoyed when he scratched off the Cash Craze Doubler ticket he bought from St. Barnabas Gulf in Oxon Hill and revealed what he thought was a $5,000 prize.

Zewudie said he was so excited it took him a while before he scratched off the rest of the ticket and discovered his prize was actually $50,000.

"I still can't believe it," he said. "This is all just a dream to me. I was expecting just $25, but $50,000 is even better!"
