March 8 (UPI) -- A group of Texas-based bakers will try to break the Guinness World Record for largest cake for dogs at the 19th annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk in Austin.

The cake must weigh more than 202.38 pounds to beat the current world record, which is held by Petmania in association with Leader Dog Food and Premium Canine of Ireland.

Non-profit organization Service Dogs, Inc. will unveil the giant creation at the event on March 24 at 10 a.m. The cake will then be served to all dogs in attendance. The Mighty Texas Dog Walk also features free samples of dog food and free advice from veterinarians and trainers.

The team of professional bakers will be using a smaller version of the planned cake to hold a taste test at a local restaurant, KVUE reported.

This is the seventh time the Mighty Texas Dog Walk is trying to break a world record.
