Feb. 16 (UPI) -- A father and daughter traveling on a British Columbia road captured video of a the moment a moose ran down the road and passed within inches of their car.
Jeremie Dyck and his daughter, Sophie, 13, said they were driving home Tuesday night in Kelowna when the moose came trotting down the middle of the road toward their vehicle.
"Sophie and I were driving past her school last night and we could see something running towards us at full speed," Jeremie Dyck said in a Facebook post Wednesday. "We stopped the truck and thought this gal might run right over us but she instead veered past."
Sophie Dyck, who recorded video of the moose, said she didn't know what the animal was until it was within inches of the car.
"It was just a big brown blob," she told news site Castanet.
The father and daughter said they also spotted a group of four mule deer in the road during the same drive.
"Seems to be a big year for wildlife in our neighborhood," Jeremie Dyck said.
