Stray dog adopts orphaned piglet in Indian city

Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Residents of an Indian city said a stray dog well known to locals was spotted raising an orphaned piglet alongside her own puppies.

Locals in Raichur said the stray dog had a litter of puppies about the same time that a sow in a nearby herd gave birth to piglets.

The piglet ended up separated from the herd and was taken in by the mother dog.

Residents captured video of the dog caring for the pig alongside her puppies in the abandoned drain where the animals made their home.
