Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Swimmers are being warned to beware at an Australian beach after fishermen caught and released a massive 13-foot tiger shark.

A video filmed Sunday afternoon on Queensland's Fraser Island shows the fishermen reeling in the gargantuan tiger shark hooked from shore on Sandy Cape.

The shark was released.

Swimmers were being warned to beware of the area even before the catch due to increased activity of stingers and fish known to be prey for dangerous predators.

Larry Ray, reservations manager at Fraser Island retreat, said this time of year is not a good time to go swimming in the area.

"With marine stingers and irukandji as well, it's not recommended to swim in the ocean waters," Ray told the Fraser Coast Chronicle. "That being said, you don't often see them around Sandy Cape."
