Cow escapes Michigan ranch, runs wrong way down the highway

Jan. 29 (UPI) -- A traveler on a Michigan highway captured video of an escaped cow running the wrong way in the fast lane while avoiding a reversing sheriff's deputy.

The Allegan County Sheriff's Office said the cow escaped a ranch in the Wayland area on Saturday and went for a run in the northbound lanes of US-131.

Anna van de Griend posted a video to Twitter showing the cow running the wrong way down the road and being pursued by a reversing deputy's patrol car.

A deputy reaches out the window of the car, but is unable to grab the cow as it passes.

The sheriff's office said the cow was eventually captured and returned to the ranch.
