Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A nature-lover filming bison during a visit to an Illinois preserve captured the moment one of the large animals took a sliding spill on an iced-over pond. The video, filmed Jan. 13, shows two bison running across the ice of a frozen pond at the Nachusa Grasslands nature preserve, which is owned by The Nature Conservancy. Advertisement One of the bison makes it to the other side without difficulty, but the second slips on the ice and flips on its side, sliding the rest of the way across the ice. "The bison spooked as I approached the fence, one of them ran across a section of frozen pond and wiped out. He got right back up and kept going though," the filmer wrote.
