Police found the seal had ended up in the parking lot of Yarmouth Pizza by Evan and rescuers with Amazing Animal Ambassadors helped keep the seal from wandering away before officials with the Marine Mammal Rescue and Research for the International Fund for Animal Welfare arrived to collect the wayward animal.

The seal was taken to IFAW headquarters, where it was found to be in good health.

"It was bright, alert, responsive and reactive to being approached by people," Sharpe told the Cape Cod Times.

Police said in a Facebook post that it was "amazing" that the seal managed to travel so far without being injured.

"Must be a Navy seal!" the department quipped.
