Dec. 27 (UPI) -- A Texas man whose Christmas decorations were stolen replaced the display with a series of security camera images of the "Grinch" in action.

Ken Lamkin, of San Antonio, said security cameras captured the theft about 3 a.m. on Christmas Eve and the thief took about $400 worth of decorations, including a fog machine and a large inflatable.

"It was 16 feet long and it's eight reindeer that were animated," Lamkin told KENS-TV.

Lamkin said he decided to replace the missing decorations by turning the security camera footage into a "Grinch" themed display.

"He was so slow and methodical, that's what reminded us of the story of the Grinch," he said.

Lamkin had large stills from the video printed onto poster board.

"We printed up some posters, put them up on some poster board," Lamkin told WAOI-TV. "We wanted to keep it in the spirit of things, so we made it like a Christmas decoration."

The homeowner also set up a projector to play the security camera video set to to the song from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

"Hopefully something will happen, and it will touch his heart, and he will change," Lamkin said of the thief. "Maybe he'll return all of the things he has stolen, just like the Grinch did."
