Dec. 22 (UPI) -- A Maryland couple who won $50,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket said they previously won $100,000 less than four years ago.

The winners, who identified themselves as "Betsy's Mom and Dad" in honor of their beloved dog Betsy, visited Maryland Lottery headquarters Wednesday to collect their $50,000 winnings from a 100X The Cash scratch-off ticket.

The couple previously visited the lottery office in April 204 to collect a $100,000 prize from a Bonus Match 5 ticket.

The couple held their oversized check Wednesday and posed with the photo taken of them with their previous prize nearly four years ago.

The winners said Betsy died last year after a long illness, so they plan to donate some of their winnings to the Schipperke Club of America in memory of their prized pooch.
