Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Wildlife officials in Florida said they are investigating a self-proclaimed "alligator man" who posted videos and photos of himself posing with a young gator.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it is investigating the photos and videos posted to Facebook by Jordan Bedford, who dubbed himself the "Alligator Man" after first posting a video of himself walking a small alligator on a leash.

"[I'm the] only person I know to walk an alligator in a leash," Bedford wrote in the caption of one video.

"We train dogs, we train gators. Hey, you got a horse? Whatever you got, bring it to me. I'll train it," Bedford said in a video starring his "new pet," which he called "LeBron."

The FWC said it is looking into whether Bedford had the proper permit to keep a gator in Florida.

Bedford told WFTV his videos were meant to be a joke and he actually found the alligator with its mouth already taped shut while he was fishing.

"I don't have an alligator. I found it and played with it," Bedford said. "I seen it while I was fishing one day and it was wrapped up, so I played with it."
