Dec. 11 (UPI) -- An Australian snake catcher was called to the home of a shocked family that discovered their sofa was being occupied by a lounging carpet python.
Luke Huntley of Snake Catcher Noosa said he was called to a Cooroy, Queensland, home Saturday morning after a resident found himself unwittingly sharing the couch with an 8-foot serpent.
"He went to sit in the spot where he usually goes to watch TV, so he went to move the cushion out of the way, but there was a big snake sitting in his spot," Huntley told 7 News.
"Maybe this snake was trying to watch TV," Huntley joked in a Facebook post that included video of the capture.
He said it was an unusual and humorous call.
"I started laughing when I saw where it was," Huntley said. "It was the biggest snake I've caught indoors before."
