Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Animal rescuers in Australia responded to a street in the capital city of Canberra, where a soggy wombat had become stuck in a storm drain.

The Australia Capital Territory Parks and Conservation Service posted a video to Facebook, showing a wildlife officer herding the wet wombat into a crate for transport.

The woman jingles her keys behind the wombat's back to inspire it to walk forward into the crate.

The post said the woman had fished the wombat out of a storm drain in the Curtin area.

The wombat was checked out by a veterinarian and is being cared for by ACT Wildlife ahead of a planned release next week.
