Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The family of a 1-year-old boy in India said the toddler has struck up an unlikely friendship with a troop of monkeys.
A video recorded recently in Hubli, Karnatanka, shows the 18-month-old boy distributing food to the band of friendly monkeys.
The boy's parents said the monkeys show up at their home every morning at 6 a.m. to play with the boy and receive his offered food.
Locals said the friendship started when a monkey took some food from the toddler when he was only 6 months old.
The parents said the monkeys are gentle with their son and he has never been bitten or otherwise injured by his unusual group of friends.
