Raccoon attempts to steal fish from end of woman's line

Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A woman fishing in a Louisiana marsh hooked a large redfish, but ended up having to wrest it from the paws of a hungry raccoon.

A video filmed last week shows the woman standing on the edge of a boat and attempting to reel in the redfish while a raccoon attempts to pull her catch in the other direction.

"Hey, dude, I'll give you the fish, but let me get the hook out of it," the woman says.

The man filming the video laughs with shock and amusement.

"This redfish is having the worst day ever," the man says.

The woman, who calls the raccoon a "nice kitty," is eventually able to wrest the fish from the raccoon, but she makes good on her word and turns it over once she gets her hook back.
