Nov. 22 (UPI) -- A deer hunter in Michigan started recording video of a bear he spotted nearby and captured the moment the bruin stole his kill.

John Wardynski, who posted his video to Facebook, said he was hunting Nov. 16 in Alcona County when he ended up with "a Michigan black bear encounter story that is hard to believe but true."

Wardynski said he was following the blood trail to the 6-point buck he shot when he spotted the black bear next to his pop up blind.

"I thought it was pretty cool to see a bear that close," he wrote. "So, I started videoing with my iPhone. After walking 20 yards or so I realized that the bear was heading to my deer. Several times I tried shouting, whistling, breaking brush. She would not leave."

The bear was the first to find Wardynski's white-tailed deer and all the hunter could do was film as the bruin dragged his kill away into the woods.

"Not sure if she dragged the deer to her den or somewhere to cover it," he wrote. "Would really like to recover my antlers but will give her space. Been deer hunting for 50-plus and years never witnessed anything like this."
