Juliette Thirsk of Western Cape said she was walking on the beach in Paternoster with her fiance and their two dogs on Friday when one of the canines ran ahead and started "playing with what looked like kelp at first." Advertisement "We soon realized it was a snake and both screamed blue murder for the dog to 'leave it,' which she did," Thirsk wrote. "It was a miracle that she didn't get bitten as cape cobras are notoriously quick to strike!" The couple captured video of the cobra swimming through the waves in the shallow water. Thirsk said she was grateful the snake didn't manage to bite the dog and had a "surfer dude chill" attitude.
