Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Luxury retailer Tiffany is turning heads online with an "Everyday Objects" collection that includes a $9,000 ball of yarn.

The jeweler released a collection this month that includes a $9,000 sterling silver ball of yarn, a $1,000 sterling tin can, a $300 sterling and walnut yo-yo and a $95 paper cup.

"I think what makes the collection unique is that it incorporates the best quality, craftsmanship and design with a level of functionality that allows you to use these things every day," Reed Krakoff, Tiffany's chief artistic officer, told CNN Money.

The products' reception on social media has been chilly, however, with some commenting that the "Everyday Objects" evoke memories of baffling high-end products like Prada's $185 paper clip and the $85 rock in a pouch sold by Nordstrom.
