Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Authorities in Oregon said deputies responded to a home where a UPS driver heard someone shouting for "help" and discovered the source -- a playful parrot.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said a UPS driver was on his route about 7:45 p.m. Monday when he heard what sounded like a person calling for help from inside a Clackamas home.

The man called his wife, who contacted the sheriff's office. The UPS worker remained on the scene to point deputies toward the house.

Deputy Hayden Sanders arrived on the scene and soon discovered the source of the screams: a parrot named Diego.

"We are happy to report that Diego the parrot was uninjured and in no need of police assistance," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
