Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A 12-year-old glue entrepreneur recruited a team of volunteers to break a Guinness World Record by mixing up more than 13,000 pounds of slime.

Madison Greenspan and her team of about 100 filled a giant tub at the Play Fair in New York with the ingredients for homemade slime and ended up with 13,820 gallons of slime.

The accomplishment bested the previous Guinness record, more than 11,000 pounds of slime.

Greenspan is the creator of Maddie Rae's Slime Glue, a clear glue she developed when she first got into making slime and had a difficult time finding clear glue, the preferred type of adhesive to use in slime creation.

Greenspan said the slime was to be separated into 5,000 jars, with 3,000 being given out to Play Fair attendees and 2,000 being sold to benefit hurricane relief charity Hand in Hand.
