Bird of prey battles snake on Mexican road

Nov. 1 (UPI) -- The Mexican flag came to life on a rural road in the country when a bid of prey was filmed struggling with a snake.

The filmer said they were driving last week in San Pedro de la Cueva, Sonora, when they stopped to check on a bird they spotted on the dirt road.

The video shows the bird lying on its side on the ground with the snake in its talons.

The bird initially appears to have been injured in its struggle with the snake, but is eventually able to fly away.

"We watched the Mexican flag live," the filmer said.
