Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A Michigan coffee shop is closed for repairs after a deer broke through a window and trashed the interior of the cafe.

Biggby Coffee Texas Corners in Kalamazoo said in a Facebook post that the coffee shop is "closed until further notice" after the deer crashed through the front window about 7:40 a.m. Friday.

"It looked like a murder scene," owner Carrie Cousins told Mlive.com. "That's the only thing I could think to describe it because there was grass and blood and everywhere."

Cousins said the deer's visit was fortunately timed to come during a break in the morning rush, when most of the customers were in the drive-through and employees were away from the front of the store.

The location posted numerous pictures of the deer's visit and its aftermath on Facebook.

Animal control officers were able to release the deer through the store's back door. The buck's 5-point rack was broken off when it crashed through the window, Cousins said.

Cousins said insurance is expected to pick up the tab for repairing the damage.
