Oct. 26 (UPI) -- An Indiana woman who decided to play the lottery for the first time found out she possessed $5,010 worth of beginner's luck.

Darrilyn Milburn told Hoosier Lottery officials she was at a store recently when she decided to buy her first-ever lottery ticket, a $10 Happy Holidays scratch-off.

"The size of the ticket caught my eye, so I decided to buy one," she said.

Milburn ended up winning $10 from the ticket, and decided to put her winnings toward a $5 Black Pearl ticket for the Oct. 15 drawing.

Milburn said the ticket sat untouched for several days before she discovered it was a $5,000 winner.

"I knew when there were so many 6s that I had to have won something," Darrilyn said.
