Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A Maryland man who won a $50,000 lottery jackpot earlier this year has good reason to consider himself lucky -- he just won another $250,000.

The 21-year-old construction worker from Laurel told Maryland Lottery officials he won $50,000 earlier this year on a scratch-off ticket and he then purchased a $250,000 Jackpot scratch-off ticket for $10 on Monday from Long Branch Beer & Wine in Silver Spring.

"I bought only one ticket -- the first one in the book -- and scratched the ticket while I was still in the store," the winner said. "When I saw I won, I quickly left the store and went home to tell my family."

The man said he plans to use his latest winnings to buy a house.

The store where the winning ticket was sold received a $1,000 bonus from the lottery.
