Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A Nebraska man surprised his new bride with a wedding party including a camel and other animals on Wednesday.

Zebediah T. Camel served as the "Camel of Honor" in the "hump day" wedding between Marcus Brown and Ruth Hillbran at Omaha's Bridge North Chapel.

"I had no idea, no idea," Hillbran said. "Then I was like, 'Oh, it's hump day, there's a camel.' I had no idea. Geez!"

Zebediah was dressed in a black bow tie as part of a wedding party that also included three mini-donkeys named Priscille, Rebecca and Rachel, each adorned with ribbons and carrying flower baskets.

All of the animals came from Scatter Joy Acres, a 26-acre ranch, where the couple regularly volunteers.

"When [Zebediah] sees Marcus and Ruth come to the ranch he usually comes running to the fence," Joy Bartling of Scatter Joy Acres said. "He knows they have treats for him."

Zebediah happily chewed on the new bride's bouquet before turning to the flowers in her hair, leaving her "full of joy" on her wedding day.
