Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Firefighters responded to a Florida country club to rescue a tiny kitten that was trapped for several days inside a dangerous utility box.

The Coral Springs Fire Department said it responded along with Parkland firefighters to the Parkland Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

Firefighters said country club employees reported hearing the sounds of a distressed kitten coming from the box for several days.

"[Florida Power & Light] was called to the scene to secure power, which allowed our firefighters access into the normally dangerous box," Division Chief Michael Moser told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

A video recorded by the Coral Springs Fire Department shows two firefighters digging around inside the box until one of them emerges victoriously with the kitten.

The feline now has a new home with a country club employee, Moser said.
