Oct. 17 (UPI) -- British coast guard personnel ended up taking time out of a training exercise to rescue a dog being swept out to sea by the tides.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency posted a video to Twitter showing a Coastguard helicopter based out of Iverness, Scotland, helping to locate the cockerpoo that was swept out to sea in the village of Cummingston.

The canine was safely rescued by an inshore boat, the agency said.

The agency posted a photo showing a rescue boat crewman holding the soggy pooch before it was reunited with its family.

"Exhausted and wet but our rescued cockerpoo is OK!" the agency tweeted.
