Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A viral photo of a sneaker sparked a massive online debate about whether the shoe is white and pink or gray and teal.
Actress Jen Lilley shared a photo of the mysterious shoe to Twitter, saying her perception of the color changed depending on how she looked at it.
"Weird!! I can see both pink and white or gray and teal depending on where I focus my eye first," she wrote.
Various Twitter users weighed in to argue their side and report their own experiences with the seemingly color-changing shoe.
The phenomenon reminded many of a blue and black dress that became known as "#TheDress" after some argued it was actually white and gold.
"So trippy. This beats the dress," Lilley wrote.
After much debate, Twitter user Alisha appeared to solve the mystery by noting the original photo was darkened with flash, making the pink and white shoe appear teal and gray.
"The real shoe is pink and white okay?" she wrote. "The second pic was with flash and darkened, so it looks teal and gray. Depends on what lighting you're in.
