Oct. 13 (UPI) -- An unexpected eye injury forced a member of Iceland's Parliament from the country's Pirate Party to wear an eye patch to a debate.
Pirate Party MP Eva Pandora Baldursdottir shared a photo of herself with an eye patch after her daughter scratched one of her eyes.
"Sometimes astounding things can happens at the worst time," she wrote Thursday. "My 1-year-old daughter scratched my eye, which means I have to wear an eye patch over the weekend."
Baldursdottir was forced to wear the fitting accessory to cover her wounded eye just before she was scheduled to appear on a televised debate.
"That wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that I'm going to a TV debate tonight," she wrote. "There I'll of course be wearing my beautiful eye patch."
