Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Massive pumpkins were dropped from a crane to destroy cars parked below as part of a Maine city's annual tradition.

Footage from the weekend's 2017 Damariscotta Pumpkinfest and Regatta, which marked its 11th year, shows gigantic pumpkins being lifted 180 feet over the ground by a crane before being dropped.

The video shows the giant pumpkins being used to crush an SUV and a pink car, both of which previously had their windows removed for safety.

The footage also shows a massive pumpkin making a splash when it is dropped into an inflatable pool.
