Crocodile resists man's attempt to wrestle at India beach

Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A man's attempt to wrestle a crocodile that washed up on a beach in India ended with the reptile making a daring escape.

A video filmed Saturday on Dapoli beach shows a man attempt to capture a crocodile by grabbing its tail, but the reptile pulls away.

The man makes a second attempt when two forest officials arrive, and the group is briefly able to detain the croc with a rope before it manages to squirm out of the binding.

Officials said they were able to capture the crocodile and relocate it to the nearby Maldoli backwaters, a more suitable environment for the saltwater croc.
