Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A tiger cub escaped from a nursery at a Chinese zoo and ran through the facility in an apparent search for its mother.

A video captured Sunday at the zoo in Fushan, Liaoning Province, shows the tiger cub jumping out of a window in the building that houses the big cat's nursery.

The cub runs through the zoo, peering into cages while apparently searching for its mother.

The video shows zookeepers chase after the cub and attempt to grab it, but the feline swats one of the workers in the head and climbs over a cage to escape from their clutches.

The zookeepers were eventually able to recapture the tiger safely and return it to the nursery, officials said.
