Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Firefighters in California shared photos of a lonely horse that became stuck halfway out a window while attempting to escape its corral to visit friends.

The Ventura County Fire Department tweeted photos showing the horse trapped with half of its body on either side of a window in its corral about 8 p.m. Saturday in the Somis area.

Firefighters said it took about an hour to free the equine from its predicament.

The department said the horse "was stuck attempting to get out of corral to be with companions."

The animal was checked out by a veterinarian and was found to be showing no signs of injuries. It was walking normally after being freed, the department said.
