Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A woman who scored a $50,000 jackpot from the Maryland Lottery's Family Feud game is using the money for a thematic purpose: Funding a family reunion.

The 45-year-old Silver Spring woman's son, who translated for her at Maryland Lottery headquarters, told officials the woman purchased the Family Feud scratch-off ticket at a 7-Eleven store in Wheaton.

The woman plans to use her winnings for a purpose in keeping with the theme of the Family Feud ticket -- she is going to travel to her family's homeland, the Dominican Republic, for a reunion with friends and family, her son said.

The son said his mother also plans to give a boost to her saving's account.
