Sept. 26 (UPI) -- A baseball fan learned the added risk of front row seats after losing his nachos to a fielder's acrobatic catch attempt.

The St. Louis Cardinals fan lost his early game snack as Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell leapt into the stands to chase down a foul ball.

The fan took a hand off his nachos to reach for the foul ball himself, but ultimately saw his snack go crashing to the ground as Russell's leg kicked back while he dove into the third row.

"Always keep two hands on the nachos - it's just fundamentals!" Major League Baseball's official Twitter account wrote.

An apologetic Russell eventually returned to the stands to personally deliver the fan a new batch of nachos.

The two happily posed for a quick selfie and Russell joked about the incident on Twitter after the game.

"Who put that wall there?" Russell wrote. "Great win Cubbies."
