Sept. 22 (UPI) -- A California man who won $1,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket had another bit of luck to brag about on the same day -- a $1 million jackpot.
Mario Martinez visited the California Lottery's Santa Fe Springs District Office recently to cash in a pair of winning scratch-offs: a Twisted Scratchers ticket worth $1,000, and a 50X the Money ticket worth $1 million.
Martinez bought both tickets from the Extra Plus store in Los Angeles. The store received a $5,000 bonus for selling the $1 million winner, the lottery said.
Martinez said he and his wife haven't decided yet how they will spent their $1,001,000.
"We haven't thought about it since we don't have it!" Martinez said while awaiting his oversized check.
