Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Many residents in a Tennessee neighborhood mistook an early Halloween decoration for the scene of a gruesome murder.
Greene County sheriff's office shared a photo Wednesday of the dummy body face down in front of a garage door marked with bloody handprints that prompted several concerned 911 calls.
"For those of you driving on Chuckey Pike in Greene County: THIS IS A HALLOWEEN DECORATION!" the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff encouraged people to simply drive by the home or offer some praise to the creative resident.
"Do NOT call 911 reporting a dead body," the sheriff's office said. "Instead, congratulate the homeowner on a great display."
