Sept. 19 (UPI) -- An Illinois police department released dashboard camera footage from a chase that involved a stolen bulldozer being used to crush a police cruiser.

The Kankakee Police Department released the dashcam footage from the early morning Aug. 24 incident, which investigators said featured Austin White, 18, stealing the bulldozer from a Meijer construction site and taking it for a drive around the streets of Kankakee.

The footage includes several different angles of the chase, including the moment the bulldozer backed over a patrol car as the driving officer fled the vehicle.

The video also shows numerous officers chasing the construction vehicle on foot.

Police initially told WLS-TV there was no available video of the incident, but later shared the dashcam video with the station. The department did not offer an explanation for why officials initially said there was no video.

White, who police said has never had a driver's license, is being held on at least six felony charges, including attempted murder, criminal damage to property and theft greater than $500.
