Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A Dungeons and Dragons group brought their playing space into the digital age with a homemade high-tech gaming table.

Tumblr user Caethial shared a photo Saturday of the setup, featuring a touch screen computer to run a digital Dungeons and Dragons program and a 40-inch television as the game board.

"The Setup for my Home D&D game, table was built on New Year's Eve 2016, with two of my players and myself," Caethial wrote. "The TV is a 40" Samsung smart tv connected to a Dell Precision 5720 27" 4K touchscreen workstation running Fantasy Grounds to manage campaign details, display maps and use tokens onscreen to represent characters."

Caethial shared photos of the building process which included constructing and finishing a wooden table before installing and connecting the TV and computer.

Though the TV and the $2,427 computer at the center of the impressive setup were a significant investment, Caethial said the rest of the setup was fairly inexpensive to produce.

"Total cost not including the tv or workstation was about $120," he said.
