Texas police find exotic tortoise, return it to its home

Sept. 15 (UPI) -- An exotic tortoise in Texas hitched ride home with police after wandering away from its home.

Converse Police Department shared photos Wednesday of the large tortoise that was seen roaming the streets before officers managed to track it down.

Officers said the tortoise was named after Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and joked they managed to get it home back in time for a signature meal.

"Upon questioning, Officer Schrauger was able to assist him in returning home in time for pizza," police said. "Another job well done! Cowabunga!"
