Sept. 14 (UPI) -- An Australian airport summoned its wildlife coordinator to the tarmac to take care of an unusual hazard near a plane -- a snake.

The Brisbane Airport posted a photo to Twitter showing a snake slithering across the tarmac Thursday near where a plane was parked.

"Meanwhile in Australia... Snakes on the tarmac #BetterThanSnakesOnAPlane," the airport tweeted.

The tweet said the serpent was removed and released in a more snake-friendly area.

"Our Wildlife Coordinator has relocated our friend," the airport tweeted.

An airport spokeswoman said the snake is not the first to be found on airport grounds.

"Snakes do like the airport, which is why we have an efficient wildlife coordinator who keeps an eye on wildlife," the spokeswoman told the Westside News.

The airport did not identify the species of snake.
