Man, cat lose composure when they fail to catch bathroom rat

Sept. 14 (UPI) -- A man in Brazil enlisted the help of his cat to catch a rat loose in his bathroom, but the encounter went hilariously wrong when both would-be captors panicked.

Lucas Santiago posted a video to YouTube showing a man using what appears to be a large squeegee to entice the rat to leave its hiding place in a bathroom while he and his cat wait to capture the rodent.

The man, who Santiago identified in a Reddit post as a friend who sent him the clip, is successful in driving the rat out of its hiding place, but he quickly panics when the large rodent runs toward him.

The man screams and runs from the rat, while his cat similarly panics and starts jumping on the walls and closed door in search of an escape route.

The man darts out of the room, nearly closing the door on his cat as they flee from the victorious rodent.
