Elephant smacks topper off pickup truck bed to search for food

Sept. 14 (UPI) -- An elephant invaded a stretch of road in Thailand and shoved the topper off the back of a pickup truck to root around for food to steal.

A video captured by a traveler in a vehicle behind the pickup truck shows the elephant approach the vehicle Monday on a road in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The elephant shoves the topper off the back of the pickup truck and roots around in the bed of the vehicle for food while the filmer cautiously backs away from the animal.

Another elephant about 340 miles away in Thailand's Khao Yai National Park was filmed pulling off a similar heist days earlier by snatching a bale of hay from the back of a flatbed truck while it was driving on a road through the park.
