Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Police in New Jersey said two babies were delivered by the same three officers in the same Burger King parking lot one day apart.

The Denville Police Department tweeted that three patrol officers, as well as Denville Fire first aid responders, delivered a baby Friday in the parking lot of a Burger King on U.S. Route 46 in Denville.

Police spokesman Capt. Keith Parlin told Parsippany Patch that the parents had been on their way to Saint Clare's Medical Center in Denville at 7:24 p.m., but they ended up pulling into the Burger King parking lot when they got stuck in traffic stemming from a fatal crash and realized they weren't going to make it on time.

The couple called 911, and the police and first aid team soon arrived and helped the mother give birth to a healthy baby boy.

The police department said the story took an even more unusual turn only 25 hours later, when the same officers responded to the same Burger King parking lot to deliver a second baby.

Parlin said the second couple had been headed to Morristown Medical Center when they realized their baby was coming, so they pulled into the lot and officers responded at 8:24 p.m.
