Sept. 6 (UPI) -- A group of Houston actors turned to theater as a form of therapy by using debris from Tropical Storm Harvey as the backdrop of a Les Miserables performance.

Sarah Hames said the barricade-like mounds of debris littering the streets of Houston inspired her to gather some actor friends and cinematographer Jeremiah Maddix to film "Les Harvey-ables," a performance of the song "One Day More" from Les Miserables.

"I said, 'Come sweaty and come miserable so everyone can see what we're doing here, slogging through this swamp water,'" Hames told KTRK-TV. "It's been a very therapeutic experience for me, and my friends as well who said the same thing, that it was an inspiring thing to be a part of. I'm really proud that I was able to do it."

The video features the actors singing the ensemble number amid the mounds of debris, as well as several shots of storm damage from around their neighborhood.
