Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Guests at Oktoberfest can enjoy beer without fear thanks to newly released "beer-repellent" sneakers.

German sneaker retailer 43einhalb shared a video introducing their collaboration with footwear company Adidas to produce the "Oktoberfest" Adidas Original sneaker.

"The majority of visitors are wearing Dirndl and Lederhosen with traditional shoes, singing and dancing upon tables and enjoying the cool atmosphere," the sneaker store said. "For those who do not want to give up on their beloved sneakers, Adidas Originals has now created the perfect sneakers for the Oktoberfest."

The Oktoberfest sneaker's design was inspired by Bavarian leather pants and features brown leather that has been treated to be "puke and beer repellent."

"To withstand the rigors of the Oktoberfest the shoe will come with a water-repellent - and most importantly, a beer-repellent - treatment," the retailer said. "With this 'Oktoberfesterization' the sneaker will survive every beer shower."

The sneakers were first made available on Sept. 2 and sold exclusively through 43einhalb's website.
